Four held with poppy straw, Charas

JAMMU: Police on Friday arrested four persons and recovered 80 Kg poppy straw and 2.3 Kg Charas from their possession in two separate incidents.
According to report, a police party led by SHO Police Station Nagrota laid a Nakka at Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted one truck. During search of the vehicle, police recovered approximately 80 Kgs of poppy straw (Bukhi) from the possession of its driver. Police registered a case under relevant sections at Police Station Nagrota.
Meanwhile, a police party led by SI Amrit Katoch laid a special Naka at Akramabaad, Doda and intercepted three persons identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi, resident of Manjmi Tehsil, Bhagwah; Rafiq Ahmed, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Kunda Malaan and Tariq Ahmed, son of Sher Mohammad, resident of Mendar Tehsil, Bhagwah and recovered 2.3 Kgs Charas from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No.46/2017 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Doda.
