Bikram Chowk flyover to be commissioned by April 2017

JAMMU: Vinod Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of ERA accompanied by technical staff of JKERA had a detailed inspection of Bikram Chowk Flyover to identify the minor left over works to be completed before the completion of the flyover.
“The Rs. 77 crore prestigious project comprising of 1.3 km long flyover from Bikram Chowk to Green Belt Gandhi Nagar is being executed by JKERA under its ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme funded by Asian Development Bank. With the commissioning of project the movement of traffic from Bikram Chowk to Satwari will be streamlined to great extent,” Vinod said.
“The structural part of the flyover is almost complete to the extent of 95 per cent. Now emphasis is being laid on allied works like lighting, painting, premixing, erecting of crash barriers, view cutters etc.
All agencies associated with the project were directed to further accelerate the pace of work on these left over minor works to ensure commissioning by April, 2017,” he added.
CEO ERA was accompanied by R.K Gupta Director ERA Jammu, S.K Gandotra, Project Manager, Transport, JKUSDIP, Jammu, Shakti Sagar, Deputy Project Manager, Transport, Jammu, and other officers of ERA and other experts.
