BHADARWAH/RAMBAN: Police on Wednesday arrested two persons and recovered 78 pouches of illicit liquor in from their possession.
According to a report, on an information, Doda Police led by SI Sunil Parihar laid a Naka near Grid Station Premnagar and intercepted a youth Kuldeep Kumar son of Chuni Lal resident of Pranoo, Bhalla (at Present Thathri). During his personal search, police recovered 38 pouches of liquor from his possession.
Youth was arrested and a case vide FIR No 16/2017 under section 48-A Excise Act was registered against the accused at Police Station Thathri.
Meanwhile, Ramban Police led by SHO Police Station Ramban Inspr. Naveen Angral intercepted a one person carrying bag upon his shoulder in the Ramban Market and found 40 pouches of liquor in it. The man identified as Shabir Ahmed son of Ali Mohd resident of Nai Basti Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 26/2017 under section 48 (A) Excise Act was registered against him.
