Sports Council to award Rs 1 lakh to best logo

JAMMU: A screening committee formed by the Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) on Tuesday started screening process for the new logos for the Council after which the best entry would be announced in coming days. Sports Council had earlier invited entries for new conceptual logo depicting true sportsmanship, strength, unity, discipline and growth within the three regions of the State.
The competition was open for amateur and professional designers to show their creative skill and imagination. The prospective entries were asked to get registered with the council office with their art work.
A panel of five experts from various fields judged the first phase entries of Sports Council logo competition. They included Prof Dr Twinkle Suri (Prof of English and Writer), Dr Sanjay Sharma, Painter and Jammu University academician, Faheem Tak, Journalist and Vice President Take1 Channel, Arun Gupta, President Printers Association and Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy Cricketer and Superintendent of Police (Prosecution). Secretary Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra informed that the judges screened about 600 entries and shortlisted 87 for the second phase selection round. The Sports Council had asked for suggestions from public at large as it is in the process of changing its logo. The logo competition is also a platform to seek advice on the new logo and also to provide an opportunity to the young and budding artists to display their talent. The winner of the logo competition shall be given a prize money of Rs 1 lakh, Para added.
Noushiba, Project Coordinator State Sports Council is coordinating the State level logo competition.
