JKSSC sponsors 30 trainees at KCSC

JAMMU: The first batch of sportspersons, sponsored by the J and K State Sports Council (JKSSC), started training at a private sports facility of KC Sports Club (KCSC), here on Monday.
These 30 sportspersons shall be attending a four-week long course in sports training, coaching and stamina building at the KCSC. The players have been enrolled in the residential scheme where their boarding lodging and training shall be provided by the academy, a handout issued by the Club, here on Monday said.
Quoting the caretaker Secretary of the Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Para, the handout said, “This initiative is a first in a series of sporting events that have been planned by the Council under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who happens to be the president of the autonomous sports body (JKSSC) with the aim to orient the young players with the latest technology and techniques in sports.
The initiative also provides an opportunity to be sports persons to interact with experts and hone their sporting skills.”
The Club has first-rate board and lodging facilities available for in-residence sportspersons.
The trainees sponsored by the Sports Council have been accommodated in the well-appointed hostel rooms with high quality mess facilities. Besides getting intensive coaching in football, cricket and swimming, the trainees will also avail of other sports facilities such as gym, squash, table tennis, futsal and lawn tennis for general fitness and stamina.
