Big 8-wkt win for JCC in CM’s Cup

JAMMU: Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) on Sunday registered a comprehensive eight wickets win against Royal Strikers Kathua to advance into the ongoing First State level Cricket Tournament for Chief Minister’s Cup at Country Cricket Academy Grounds, Gharota, near here.
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Royal Strikers could score 137 runs after the batsmen were restricted by the disciplined bowling from JCC. Surinder Singh and Raman Kumar were only batsmen, who could face the tight bowling contributing 28 and 19 runs respectively. For JCC, Jaipal, Rohan, Deepak Dogra, Guru Pratap and Jatinder Singh shared two wickets each.
In reply, JCC attained the target in 32 overs losing only two wickets. Guru Pratap played sensible innings of 52 (71 balls) runs while young Shubham Pundir added quick fire 40 off 24 deliveries to guide their side to easy win. For his all round performance of a half century and two wickets, Guru Partap was declared Man of the Match.
The team was complimented by the Organising Secretary and former Ranji cricketer, Vivek Sharma. The match was officiated by Ashwini Kumar and Sandeep Singh.
