PHE workers defer strike till Mar 25

JAMMU: PHE Workers Welfare Association (PHEWWA) has urged upon the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Choudhary to address the issues of the PHE employees at the earliest. Talking to media-persons here today, Provincial President Bakshi Singh and General Secretary, Subash Verma said that association was forced to hard its stance and call for this token strike which has successfully been observed across the region in all PHE Divisions.
“We held talks with PHE Minister and apprised him of the difficulties which the workers are facing for the want release of salaries and regularization,” they said adding that despite being invited for negotiation the concerned minister has failed to give a categorical assurance of fulfilling the genuine demands in time bound framework. Association in view of the public convenience is suspending this phase of agitation till 25th March, 2017, they said and called upon the State Government to take the problem of the workers seriously and address them without any loss of time failing which the association will be forced to intensify the struggle.
