JAMMU: Against the backdrop of National Conference president Farooq Abdullah’s remarks, activists of Bajrang Dal on Monday burnt his effigy and staged protest outside provincial office amid slogans.
Shouting slogans, Bajrang Dal activists assembled outside Residency Road based National Conference party headquarter Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan and protested against Farooq Abdullah’s recent remarks wherein he described militants as ‘freedom fighters’. The activists climbed the main gate of the Bhawan but the deployment of security forces and timely action of the police, prevented them from entering into the complex. “Farooq Abdullah has disrespected the nation by calling terrorists as ‘freedom fighters’ and he should apologise for his anti-India remarks,” said the protestors. The demonstrators however, also burnt an effigy of the NC president.
