JAMMU: A team of Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), booked 26 traders under various Acts and realized Rs 23,000 as fine from the defaulters.
On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, as per the directions of Director, FCS&CA Jammu and under the supervision of Deputy Director (Supplies) FCS and CA Jammu, a special squad headed by Joginder Singh, Assistant Director (Enforcement) FCS&CA along with Inspectors Raman Kumar, Naresh Gupta and Yogesh Sharma visited the areas Janipur, Bantalab, Muthi, Barnai, Paloura, Toph, Talab Tillo and Canal Road, Jammu. The team book 26 traders were booked under various Acts viz EC Act 1956, the J and K Display of Price and Stocks of Scheduled Essentials Commodities Order, 1990, LPG (Regulation of supply and distribution) Order 2000 and a fine of Rs 23,000 were realized from the defaulters. Further, all the traders were directed to avoid using of domestic LPG cylinder for commercial purposes and also display the price list at their shops failing which strict action under law will be initiated against the defaulters.
