CAPD TSO arrested for possessing disproportionate assets

JAMMU: Five years after the registration of case, the State Vigilance Organization (SVO) on Wednesday, in a surprise raid, arrested Shabir Ahmed Magary, the then TSO CAPD Department, who was booked in year 2012 for possessing disproportionate assets.
FIR 24/2012 was registered under Section S 5(1)(e) read with Section 5 (2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 against Shabir Ahmed Magary, son of Bashir Ahmed Magray, resident of village Thrintha Reasi.
Director SVO Munir Khan while talking to STATE TIMES said, “All the pending cases have been reopened to investigate and challan in the court of law presented for judicial determination.”
“Registered cases in the Vigilance Organisation are half proved as FIRs were registered after completing preliminary investigations”, said Khan adding “the investigations into the already registered cases have been stepped up to clear the backlog.”
According to FIR 24/2012, Shabir Ahmed Magary, during his posting in CAPD Department, accumulated huge moveable and immoveable assets through corrupt practices which are disproportionate to his known sources of income.
At the time of registration of FIR, the accused Shabir Ahmed Magary was having huge bank balances, land at different places, palatial house at Thrintha Reasi and a steel fabrication shop at Thrintha Reasi in the name of his wife besides possessing luxurious house hold articles.
Fresh investigation into the case involving Shabir Ahmed Magary, presently attached with GAD, has been started.
