JAMMU: The BSF Jammu, Hiranagar Club and Khalsa Club won their respective matches to advance into the next round of the ongoing Fourth Sant Gurbaksh Singh (Danna) Memorial Hockey Tournament at K K Hakku Stadium, here on Tuesday.
The BSF Jammu defeated Young Star Simbal Camp 5-1. Navjeet Singh (6th), Vikram Toppo (25th), Vijay (35th), Vicky Singh (50th) and Manoj Bhagat (60th) were the scorers from winning side. From Young Star, Manmeet Singh reduced the margin in the 59th minute.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Hiranagar Club outplayed Deshmesh Club Nanak Nagar 4-1. Sandeep Singh (5th), Rohit Sharma (15th), Digvijay Singh (25th) and Abhinandan Singh (45th) were the scorers while Vikas Sharma netted the lone goal from Deshmesh Club in the 21st minute. In other scheduled match, Khalsa Club blanked Lachipur Kathua 5-0. Taqdir Singh (13th), Harjeet Singh (17th), Surinder Singh (33rd), Harjeet Singh (40th) and Balmeet Singh (52nd) were the goal scorers. Deputy Manager FCI, Janak Singh, Ravi Goswami (AEE) and Gurmeet Singh (SE) were Special Guests in today’s matches, who interacted with the teams.Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Iqbal Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Joginder Singh, Karanjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Jaspreet Singh Jimmy, Senapati, Mukesh Kumar, Satvir Singh (Tournament Director) and J.S Reen.
FIXTURE: The GNN Hockey Club shall take on Peaks XI at 11:00 AM; Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Club Poonch to meet Ajit Club at 12:30 PM; Pathankot XI to meet Power House Poonch at 2:00 PM; Khalsa Club to clash against MBS Simbal Camp at 3:30 PM.
