JAMMU: Prominent businessman, Ajay Kapoor won the inaugural match of the Jammu District Squash Championship, organised by J and K Squash Association, at KC Sports Club, here on Saturday.
In the opening tie, Ajay defeated his senior opponent, Col. Jasrotia 3-1 in best of five game.
After losing the first set, Ajay fought back and clinched the tie to make it a 3-1 win. The score: 09-11, 11-06, 11-06, 15-13.
Earlier, the event was declared open by Divisional Sports Officer of the J and K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Rajan Sharma. In all, 22 entries have been received by the organisers in this knock-out district level competition.
Meanwhile, the association expressed its gratitude to the KC Sports Club, especially its Chairman, Arjun Chowdhary for extending logistic support for the event. Sanjeev Sharma is Organising Secretary of the Competition.
