BHADARWAH: The Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhadarwah under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) and in close coordination with Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu in continuation of its main task of containing militancy and integration of local populace in the national mainstream, celebrated opening ceremony of three days Cultural Events and Educational Seminar (Youth Festival) at Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu under Operation Sadhbhavana.
This event was inaugurated by Professor R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, in the presence of large number of civil and military dignitaries including Sector Commander, Rashtriya Rifles, Doda Commanding Officer and Second-in-Command, Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhadarwah, SDM, Bhadarwah, ASP Bhdarwah, persons from Civil Administration, Police Department, CRPF, prominent citizens of Bhadarwah, principals and teachers of colleges/schools.
The event also witnessed participation of 400 students and teachers from eight colleges including Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu, Islamia Faridia College, Kishtwar, Government Degree Colleges of Bhadarwah,Doda, Kisthwar, Kilotran, Marwah and Chhatru and eight schools of Bhadarwah including two higher secondary schools and six private schools. Students from local schools showcased their skills in dancing and singing on the day of opening ceremony of the event.
Professor R.D Sharma highlighted the role of youth in developing the nation and importance of army in one’s life.
A total of thirty different competitions viz debate, sketching, clay modelling, photography, athletics, chess, badminton for girls, quiz, painting, marathon, volleyball and cricket etc will be conducted during the three days of Youth Festival. Several educational and motivational lectures will also be delivered by various dignitaries including Rector, Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu. Besides this, information stalls were also put up, which included Equipment and Weapon Display and stalls like join Army, NCC, Free Internet Cafe, CSD, MI Room, Bank, MSME and Career Counselling.
