JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Weightlifting Association on Wednesday elected Harbajan Singh as President for the third term of four years in an election meeting held here.
Former General Secretary, G.R Beig, Abdul Rouf and Ravi Singh have been made Vice Presidents.
Mushtaq Ahmed was elected as General Secretary while Yudhvir Singh as Secretary. Inspector with J and K Police and national medallist, Daljeet Singh and Ajaz Ahmed were made Joint Secretaries.
The members present elected Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar as Treasurer of the Association.
Two prominent personalities with political background, Vikramaditya Singh and Sajjad Gani Lone have been made Patrons of the Association while Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh shall be the Chief Patron, a handout issued here on Wednesday informed.
The Executive Members: Aniece Chowdhary, Bashir Ahmed, Anjuman Majid, Abdul Hamid, Ashiq Hussain, Sayeed Rashid Wani, Sanjay Kumar, Dhanraj Singh, Dayal Singh, Mahesh Sharma, Dinesh Pathania and Sunil Kumar.
The election meeting was attended as observers by Saydev Yadav (Vice President Indian Weightlifting Federation), Ashutosh Sharma (General Secretary, J and K Olympic Association) and Shiv Kumar Sharma (Joint Secretary, J and K State Sports Council).
