JAMMU: Vigilance Organisation, Jammu on Thursday registered an FIR against revenue officers for their alleged involvement in illegal allotment of land to certain beneficiaries.
The Vigilance received a complaint filed by Rashpal Singh, son of Suneet Singh, resident of Ward No. 5, Old Satwari, Jammu, wherein the complainant alleged that Sudarshan Kumar and Kamal Kumar, both sons of Late Amarnath Lakhanpal, residents of 574, Colonels Colony, Narwal Pain Jammu Cantt., managed to get allotment of 115 kanals of land at Jammu and Rajouri, despite of the fact that the family was only entitled for allotment of 48 kanals of land as per the prescribed scale in lieu of the property that they left in PoK.
After verification, it was found that land measuring 32 kanals had been allotted to the aforementioned beneficiary in Khasra No. 247 at Kartholi Samba and 15 kanals 2 marlas in Khasra No. 64 at Narwal Pain Jammu.
The verification further revealed that the beneficiaries including Shanti Devi, wife of Late Amarnath Lakhanpal managed allotment of 5 kanal and 11 kanal lands in Khasra No. 667 and 668 min respectively at Digiana, Jammu. The son of Sudarshan Kumar also managed to get allotment of 51 kanals of land in Khasra Nos. 370, 372, 374, 375 and376 at village Rajal, Nowshera in Rajouri.
During enquiry, it was found that the aforementioned beneficiaries got the land allotted in their favour, in connivance with the concerned revenue officers who fraudulently allotted 16 kanals of land at Digiana, Jammu and 51 kanals of land at Nowshera, Rajouri to them.
The aforementioned acts of omissions and commissions on the part of abovementioned accused public servants and beneficiaries, prima-facie constitute commission of offences punishable under Section 5(1)(d) read with Section 5(2) J and K P.C Act Svt. 2006 and SECTION 120-B RPC. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 4/2017 was registered in Police Station, VOJ against the revenue officers and beneficiaries.
