JAMMU: Several new passenger sheds are coming up across different routes of public transport in Jammu city but a close look at all those existing passenger sheds clearly reveal the pathetic state of affairs.
At some places either these passenger sheds have been declared out of bound due to encroachment or poor maintenance and at some other places the security forces have thrown mesh of concertina wires to block their way.
Ironically, the passengers are also not in the habit of using passenger sheds at most of places as matadoors shy away from stopping there to pick up the passengers.
The traffic police authorities have also failed to channelize the rush of traffic at peak hours leading to chaotic situation.
Those located across busiest routes including Indira Chowk, Shalimar Chowk, Townhall, Dogra Chowk, Satwari Road, Shastri Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Janipur, New Plot, By pass road linking Greater Kailash, Sainik Colony, are in shambles and in need of urgent repair.
