JAMMU: Citing indifferent attitude of Union Government to tackle joblessness in Jammu and Kashmir in general and Jammu in particular, Neeraj Gupta Zonal President Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) alleged that union budget has exposed the conspiracy of government against unemployed youth of Jammu with nothing in offing.
He said that there is no policy in union budget shown to decrease the unemployment in Jammu. There was no package announced by the union government for addressing unemployment and losses incurred due to six months unrest in Kashmir.
“The state Government is busy announcing ex-gratia relief for militants, compensation and rehabilitation policy for the stone pelters, but no one has concern regarding the unemployed youths of the Jammu”, he asserted adding that people from Burma, Bangladesh, etc. are enjoying all sorts of bounties but Government has no plans to address the woes of genuine residents of the State.
Alleging that Government instead of providing succour to Jammuites is all set to snatch away their source of living, he said the fresh instance in this direction is Jammu Development Authority’s drive in the Narwal area, where besides damaging the Rehris and Sheds of locals, people were also manhandled. Giving details of this brutal drive by JDA, he posed a question whether government wants to uproot Gareebi or the Gareebs?
Neeraj Gupta said that we will not allow the Government to play with the future of youth of Jammu and warn the Government that they should not test the patience of the peace loving people of JammuHe was accompanied by Mastan Singh Senior leader, Jagdish Singh Zonal Secretary, Mohammad Gh. Qadir Daing, Arfaz Ahmed, Mohd Zafar, Sultan and Mushtaq.
