JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Tuesday said that National Conference and Congress are trying to create wedge in the state on communal and regional lines but Article 370 was and is core issue of the BJP.
“We are committed for Article 370 and our government in Jammu and Kashmir is working on Agenda of Alliance,” Dr Singh said.
He said that the government is running on governance, adding, “Opposition parties both NC and Congress are issueless and they are creating communal as well as regional wedge in the state.”
The Deputy Chief Minister further said, “we have to counter every move of opposition, who are desperate to disrupt the smooth and normal functioning of the alliance partners.”
They are either creating Jammu v/s Kashmir, Hindu v/s Muslims or raising a bogey of settlement of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley, he said and added, “we will foil their nefarious designs and the PDP-BJP Government will run much better to accomplish Agenda of Alliance.” Dr Singh also met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti late evening at her residence and discussed the prevailing political situation.
According to the sources, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed annoyance over Speaker’s gesture of expunging her remarks. They said that today’s development also followed the postponement of Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held at 3:00 PM at the Civil Secretariat.
Earlier Dr Singh had also chaired a meeting of MLAs and party Ministers in the wake of opposition on Tuesday created uproar in the House demanding clarification from the Chief Minister on her statement saying that those who want abrogation of Article 370 are anti-nationals. Speaker Legislative Assembly had adjourned the House for the day.
