Several deputations meet Dy CM

JAMMU: Several deputations from Billawar, Basohli and Kathua on Saturday called on Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, and apprised him of issues concerning development of their respective areas seeking early redress of the same.
The Deputy Chief Minister took stock of various development works being executed in these areas under various projects of Rural Development, Power Development, R&B, PHE, Tourism, Health, Education and allied departments. He asked the people to ensure their participation in development projects being executed in their respective areas for effective implementation of these schemes.
While interacting with the delegations, Dr Singh exhorted upon them to be prepared for the ensuing Panchayat and Urban Local bodies elections. “These vital units of the government have a huge role in socio-economic transformation so it becomes our prime responsibility that we participate in elections of such government entities with enthusiasm and commitment”, he asserted.
Emphasizing government’s agenda of equitable development in the state, Singh said that the focus is being accorded on enhancing the basic facilities in the rural and far flung areas so that the so far unattended areas get the requisite facilities. The most effective tools of present dispensation are ensuring a more responsive, accountable and transparent administration to the people.
Dr Singh assured the delegations that every initiative will be taken up to redress the problems raised by them at the earliest.
