JAMMU: The government on Friday informed that all deserving sections of the society are being provided IAY houses on the basis of norms and 2011 census.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Abdul Haq Khan said this while replying to a question raised by MLA Rajeev Sharma.
Giving details, the Minister said that 20958 IAY houses were sanctioned for state in 2014-2016.
Regarding the allotment of IAY houses in Akhnoor, he said that 190 houses were allotted during 2014-15, and 81 during the year 2015-16 taking the total allotments to 271 houses in two years.
Shakti Singh Parihar, Yawar Ahmad Mir, Javed Rana, Mian Altaf, G M Saroori and Asghar Ali Karbalai also raised supplementary questions.
