Delegations call on Mehbooba

JAMMU: Several legislators on Friday met Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and sought her intervention in resolving many of the issues pertaining to their constituencies.
Legislators Shamima Firdous, Pawan Gupta, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Khurshid Alam and Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri called on Mehbooba Mufti here. She assured them to look into the issues raised by them.
Meanwhile, a delegation of former legislators also met Mehbooba Mufti and demanded rationalisation of rents on account of official accommodation used by them, extending medical cover to them and enhancement of medical allowance.
They also demanded accommodation facilities and commensurate hike in their pension alongwith the hike in salaries of sitting legislators.
A deputation of traders of Jammu led by President, Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Rakesh Gupta brought several issues of the trading community of Jammu into her notice and sought their redressal.
Mehbooba told the deputation that in this year’s Budget, the government has given many incentives to business community so that economy of the State is strengthened. A delegation of executive members of Amar Singh Club, Jammu also met her and sought her guidance in many of the social issues they have taken up for redressal.
