‘Attempt to suppress GMC molestation case shall create unrest in Jammu region’

JAMMU: Launching a scathing attack on some politicians for exerting unwarranted pulls and pressures to subvert the justice, Jammu Development Council and JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee strongly condemned the attempt to create regionalism by a political leader in Assembly on the pretext of raising issue of involvement of senior doctor in an alleged molestation case, which is pending in the Court of Law.
In a joint statement of two leaders, Kamal Gupta Chairman Jammu Development Council and R.C Sharma President JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee blamed the politicians for an attempt to create a divide among the people of State by targeting a Jammu based doctor who is a professor in Government Medical College, Hospital Jammu.
They further accused that the motive behind the drama in Assembly was aimed to destabilize the elected Coalition Government.
Expressing surprise over adopting such cheap political tactics, both the leaders said that the issue was blown beyond proportions just to gain media hype besides subverting the attention of Assembly from real issues confronting the people of State for which the Assembly was called in.
They said that in the alleged molestation case the doctor has already been placed under suspension, departmental enquiry is in progress, FIR stands lodged and the case is running in the Court of Law, there was no cause of further agitation by the politician in the Assembly. “The law will take its own course and justice will be delivered,” they added.
The leaders warned any further attempt to suppress facts by exerting political pressure which shall create unrest in Jammu region and people will have no other option but to come on roads to protect the interest of Jammu region.
