Give due representation to college fraternity: CTA

JAMMU: College Teachers Association (CTA) appreciated the decision of State Government to appoint the Vice-Chancellors and Registrars of the Cluster Universities at Jammu and Srinagar.
In the meeting held here on Monday, Association President, Prof D.S Manhas said that the decision of the government to start the Cluster Universities at Jammu and Srinagar will go a long way in boosting the Higher Education Sector of the State.
The members of college fraternity expressed concern for not giving any representation to the principals and other senior faculty members from colleges of Jammu region, who have not been taken into consideration while making the appointments. The step motherly treatment towards the fraternity of college teachers of Jammu region was highly resented by the association.
It is pertinent to mention here that the college principals and teachers were appointed as controller, registrar, Director College Development in Jammu University, a tradition which had been discontinued by the Jammu University.
The speakers stressed upon the government that due representation be given to the college fraternity from Jammu region while appointments to different posts of cluster university are made.
The meeting was attended by Dr M.S Saini, Dr Anil Ganjoo, Prof Narayan Dutt, Prof Hans Raj, Dr Aziz Chouhan, Dr Jagjit Singh, Prof Lekh Raj, Dr Narinder and Prof Sanjay Kotwal.
