JAMMU: Highlighting role of sports in life, Vice-President BJP Yudhvir Sethi on Sunday said that sports play an important role in overall personality development as it promotes healthy body and goes a long way in developing sportsman spirit.
He said that youth should make sports an essential part of their life as it is also a very good career option.
“Youngsters of our State have excelled in the field of sports and our sportspersons have proved their mettle at national and international arenas ,” he added.
Yudhvir said this while inaugurating a power lifting championship, here on Sunday at Fitness First Gym.
The power lifting championship had squat and deadlift category under sub junior, junior, masters and senior category.
Sethi distributed prizes among the players and Charanjeev Singh got the title of strongman in squat category.
Among those who were present on the occasion included Preet Dutta, Amit Dutta, Kuldeep Singh, Jasmeet Singh, Sandeep, Vishal Kohli, Pankaj, Anil Kapoor and Rohit Jamwal.
