JAMMU: Supermodel turned actor, boy from Jammu and Kashmir, Sahil Salathia who debuted as a protagonist with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Everest last year is coming back on television with another legendary film-maker!
Sahil, son of Gulzar Singh Slathia, Inspector of General of Police (IGP) (Retd), is making his comeback with Nikkhil Advani’s television series ‘POW-Bandhi Yudh Ke’ as an antagonist which airs on Star Plus from Monday to Saturday at 10:30 PM.
“I can’t do regular Saas-Bahu shows that are about black magic or kitchen politics, I denied all of them that came my way after making a debut with Ashutosh Gowariker on television,” Sahil said and added, “There is no point taking up work that you cannot be proud of because of the regressive content and the way they are shot or the kind of scripts they come up with. For me, my director is very important and the script, be it any medium, television or films.”
“I’m playing Yussuf Wali Muazzam in POW who is from Pakistan. He is the main antagonist in the series. He is the face of ‘jihad’ so you can imagine what the guy is about. I can’t give you more pointers about his character sketch because I want you to explore it yourself but I promise you, you are in for a surprise for the next few months,” he asked Jammuites in his message.
Worked with director Nikkhil Advani, he said, “I started filming for the show in October last year and still am very much in the middle of the schedule. Nikkhil Advani’s films like Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ or D-day or Airlift or Katti Batti are all milestones in the Indian film industry so you can imagine the amount of precision that must have gone in the show with Nikkhil Advani on the director’s chair for POW.”
“Jammu and Kashmir is where my heart is, I would really wish for everyone in my huge family of Jammu and Kashmir, every single citizen to watch it and hopefully, really enjoy it!,” he said.
For any feedback, he asked Jammuites to give him a shout out at ‘Sahil Salathia’ on social media verified accounts.
