Through medium of your esteemed daily I would like to thank the Government of Jammu and Kashmir regarding the decision to conduct polls for Panchayat elections. Indeed the first lady Chief Minister of the State along with cabinet had in true sense implemented 33 per cent reservation to the women’s in coming polls. The historic decision to remove any other kind of reservation is appreciable step the reason being equality amongst equal because of the fact economic conditions being same for contestants at the village level.
Secondly freedom to contest election for Sarpanch hence providing equal opportunity to people of all strata of society irrespective of caste. As nearly seven decades have passed since independence, women’s reservation in Panchayat elections was dream come true for our State. Aarakshan Virodhi Party supports and thanks Jammu and Kashmir Govt. for this decision and presumes that caste based reservation is removed from our State so that uniform upliftment of downtrodden class is achieved
irrespective of caste.
