JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Associ-ation today selected the State boys team for participation in the 36th Boys Free Style and Greeco Roman Style and 19th Girls Free Style Junior National Wrestling Championship to be held at Patna in Bihar from 19th to 24th January.
Prior to the final selection of the team, a 15-day coaching camp was organised by the association at Bajrang Akhara, Shalamar Jammu here. The Team: Gourav Kumar, Surjeet Singh, Neera Samotra, Arjun Singh, Nadeem Ahmed, Ajay Chib, Sanjay Singh Chib, Sunil Chowdhary, Rahul Mehra, Aman Gupta, Abhishek Singh, Mohd Asif, Din Mohamad and Salinder Singh. Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ashok Khajuria was Special Guest, who interacted with the selected boys and wished them all success in their upcoming event.
Among others present were President Bajrangi Akhara, Pardeep Sharma, General Secretary, Ajay Vaid, Vice President, Vijay Phalwan and Treasurer, Raju Sharma as also Dheeraj Sharma, Jai Bharat, both qualified Wrestling Coaches and Vikas Gupta. Meanwhile, members of the association and those selected players and other dignitaries observed two minutes silence to pay respect to veteran wrestler of the state, Krishan Pahalwan, who left for his heavenly abode.
