BSF foils infiltration bid in Samba

JAMMU: Border Security Force tonight foiled an infiltration attempt on International Border in Samba sector of Jammu region.
“A movement of group of 4 to 6 terrorists was seen as they approached from Pakistan side taking advantage of undulating ground of Tarna Nala in Samba Sector tonight at around 2100 hours,” BSF spokesman here said.
He said that the infiltrators started firing with automatics on BSF troops deployed at Naka mounds.
“Alert troops retaliated effectively and forced them to retreat,” said the spokesman.
He further said that a suspected body is seen lying ahead of fence, adding that search will be carried out in morning to verify.
Earlier, the Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an infiltration bid attempted under the cover of dense fog and thick ‘Sarkanda’ growth in the wee hours of intervening night of 12-13 December and apprehended one Pakistani intruder near the Kandral border outpost in Ramgarh sector of Samba district.
