JAMMU: Jammu Rising Stars scripted second consecutive win in the ongoing seven-match cricket series for junior, organised by Vishal Cricket Club Jammu at Parade Ground, here on Wednesday. The tournament is being held under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, former Ranji player. Earlier, Jammu Rising Stars outplayed Vishal Rising Stars by just two-run in the close contest.
Batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored 126 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Kannav (25), Sachin (24), Umar Sadiq (19) and Rohan Gill (17) runs were the main scorers. For Vishal Rising Stars, Amit grabbed three wickets, Ashim took two and Praful and Agastaya shared one each. Vishal Rising Stars, in reply, failed to chase the target and managed to score 124 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.
Araya Sachivansh was the top scorer with 62 runs and Akshit Gandral made 32. In the last over, batting team required 8 runs then they required three runs in two balls but they did not complete the game with positive note and thus lost the match by two runs. Umar scalped three wickets and Jugjap Singh took one for Jammu Rising Stars.
Umar Sadiq was adjudged Man of the Match. The third match of the league shall be played on tomorrow at 9:30 AM, informed Rajesh Gill, Coordinator of the Event. The match was officiated by Sandeep, Sanjay and Vinod.
