MLC criticises Governor’s address
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta on Tuesday criticised Governor’s Address alleging that its contents utterly failed to address the significant issues including good governance by present BJP-PDP Government, steps taken for curbing unabated corruption, measures to strengthen the corruption controlling institutions and departmental vigilance wings. He was speaking in a discussion on Governor’s address on the floor of Upper House. Naresh Gupta strongly criticised the Law Department for engaging blue-eyed Advocates, who failed to safeguard the Government interest, as was recently observed in the Apex court during a case pertaining to SARFAESI. He demanded white paper on all issues including 2008 agitation, which has been discussed in the Governor’s address followed by 2010 and 2016 unrest.
He demanded that River Chenab and Neeru in Doda District be developed at par with River Tawi, which is being developed at par with Sabarmati River. “We don’t want Gujarat Model because it has taken the country towards division of the people on regional and religious grounds”, he alleged.
Naresh Gupta further demanded that recruitment in police should be made through Police Recruitment agencies and not by way of out sourcing. “We have full confidence on the state police officers”, he asserted.
