Mahila Cong holds protest against demonetisation

JAMMU: In connection with the on-going campaign against worst impact of demonetisation on common masses, activists of Mahila Congress under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress President, Indu Pawar on Monday organised a protest against the NDA Government headed by Narendra Modi and PDP-BJP coalition in J and K.
Hundreds of the activists of Mahila Congress carrying placards and banners shouted slogans against the BJP Government at the Centre for snatching meals from the people in general and poor section of the society in particular.
Mahila Congress activists held Thali-Peet protest, to give a message that pro-industrialist policies of the NDA government have snatched two time meals from the commoner.
Indu Pawar said that with the demonetisation decision women are the maximum sufferers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still ignorant about this tact.
She said through this protest Mahila Congress would try to wake up the BJP Government at the Centre from deep slumber on the issue of problems being faced by women after demonetization.
Pawar also said Rahul Gandhi Vice President AICC and Mahila Congress demands, that all restrictions on withdrawal of money be lifted with immediate effect. Till the time these restrictions are place, a special interest at the rate of 18 per cent per annum should be given to all Bank Account holders.
We demand that all charges on digital ‘transactions should be abolished forthwith. After protest protesting activists moved towards DC office Jammu for handing over the memorandum.
