Mr Jammu Body Building & Fitness Championship;Gyms at village level can divert energy of youth positively: Bhalla Sidhant Bali emerges Champion of Champions

JAMMU: Sidhant Bali emerged Champion of Champions in the Mr Jammu Body Building and Fitness Championship held under the banner of Body Builders Association J and K in collaboration with J and K State Sports Council at MA Stadium, here on Saturday. The theme of the championship was to say no to drugs, stay healthy. Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, who said that addiction is a termite in the society and people are getting prone to this problem in a huge number.
Former Minister further said that sports are necessary to channelise the energy of youth and keep them healthy. He said that sports help in personality development and make the youth confident in life. He said in the present scenario where the youth is getting inclined to drugs and other evils, sports have become even more significant.
He said the gyms at the village level can divert the energy of the youth positively. For connecting the youth with sports and for developing a nursery of young sports persons in the State, sports schools should be opened in all districts of the State, Bhalla said and added that sports participation can help children develop social skills that will benefit them throughout their entire lives.
Mahesh Dutta Sharma, Vice President BBAJK, Rajesh Dutta, Secretary General BBAJK, Shakti Dutta, Naresh Gupta, Dr Gunit, Nand Kishore, Kishore Sharma, Sureshet Dutta, Sunil Mehta and Sanjeev Vaid were also present.
On this occasion, Dhananjay Singh Charak, who won fourth place in World Body Building Championship, Rahul Dev silver medal in Muscle Mania and Yimaljit medal winner in Federation Cup were honoured for their fabulous performance.

50-55 kgs: Ajit Singh 1st, Jugal Kumar 2nd and Dinesh Kumar 3rd. 55-80 kgs: Vimaljeet 1st, Lovish Jamwal 2nd and Santokh Chib 3rd. 60-65 kgs: Shramik Mahajan 1st, Gurpreet Singh 2nd and Rohit Saini 3rd. 65-70 kgs: Navneet Sharma 1st, Akshat Gupta 2nd and Krishan Lal 3rd. 70-75 kgs: Brite Deol 1st, Manmeet Singh 2nd and Abhu Bali 3rd. 75-80 kgs: Surinder Thakur 1st, Vishal Pandita 2nd and Gurdeep Singh 3rd. 80-85 kgs: Sidhant Bali 1st, Kulvir Singh 2nd and Vikhayal Sharma 3rd.
Fitness model below 6 feet: Brite Deol 1st, Akshat Gupta 2nd, Gurneet Singh 3rd, Shubhan Thakur 4th and Neeraj Kumar 5th. Above 6 feet: Sidhant Bali 1st, Gautam 2nd, Chandan Chib 3rd and Nikhil Malik 4th.
