Dear Editor,
The government’s claim that the purchase of petrol through debit card will be cheaper by 0.75 per cent is not true. After the launch of this scheme, whenever I purchased petrol through my debit card, I did not get any discount, rather a deduction of Rs 28.75 has also been made from my account on a purchase worth Rs 1,000. Will the government explain the mismatch in the promise and the ground reality?
