LC constitutes panel to look into death of MLC’s son

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Chairman has constituted a committee of the members of both the Houses to look into ‘negligent and other related issues’ leading to the death of Sadhaya Arora, son of MLC Ramesh Arora.
Sadhaya Arora was admitted in Govt. Medical College Hospital, Jammu for treatment of dengue. A day after being administered platelets, the patient got reaction and his blood pressure fell down suddenly.
Fearing ‘negligence’ in the treatment, Sadhaya was rushed to Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana, from where he was shifted to PGI where he breathed his last on October 23, 2016.
Congress MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga had raised this issue on the opening day of the Legislative Council, demanding House Committee to look into element of negligence, if any.
All the members, irrespective of their political affiliations, stood up in support of the demand and urged the Chairman to constitute a committee to have the matter examined in detail.
Chairman Anayat Ali immediately constituted a committee, comprising Ghulam Nabi Monga (MLC), G.M. Saroori (MLA), Devendra Singh Rana (MLA), Dr. S. Bashir Ahmed Shah Veeri (MLC), Dr. Shenaz Ganai, (MLC), Vibodh Gupta (MLC), Firdous Ahmad Tak (MLC) and Surinder Kumar Choudhary (MLC).
Ramesh Arora (MLC) appreciated the constitution of committee and expressed hope that truth will ultimately come out, which will help in taking measures for averting such incidents in future.
