JAMMU: Temporary teachers on Thursday held a protest under the banner of J and K Temporary Teacher Association 2014 led by its Kashmir Province president Abdul Majeed Baba to press the government and higher authority of the department to settle their demand of continuation of their services.
Hundred of temporary teachers were gathered in Exhibition Ground near Press Club here and raised the slogans in support of their demand.
Abdul Majeed said that these teachers were recruited on a temporary basis under the government order number 482 of 2014. He asked government to settle genuine demand of temporary teachers in the ongoing budget session as they were appointed purely on merit bases.
