Ladakhi students call on IG Rana; seek zero tolerance towards crime against women;Chairperson SCW visits victim, assures full support

JAMMU: Seeking stern action against the accused doctor for molesting a medical student, Ladakhi students on Wednesday met IGP, Danesh Rana here. “Police should act strictly in this case so that it becomes an example for others. There should be zero tolerance towards such heinous crimes,” the delegation of Ladakhi students demanded.
The IGP gave a patient hearing to the delegation of Ladakhi students and assured that the police will play its positive role.
Meanwhile, Chairperson, J&K State Commission for Women, Nayeema Ahmad Mahjoor met the victim in question at Government Medical College and assured her stern action would be taken against the guilty. The medical students presented on the occasion said “It is neither a case of racial or regional nor religious but it is a matter of harassment of women at work place or an attempt to make advance towards girl student with evil intention to exploit her.” They demanded that Dr Bhupesh Khajuria should be expelled from his service and his degree should be seized on moral ground. Chairperson, J&K State Commission for Women (SCW), Nayeema Ahmad Mahjoor assured all possible support.
