Nagar Kirtan organised on Parkash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh

POONCH: An impressive Nagar Kirtan was taken out from Gurdwara Singh Sabha in the border district of Poonch on Tuesday after the commencement of Sri Akhand Path Sahib on the occasion of 350th Parkash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Panj Piyaras attired in traditional dress with un-sheathed swords in their hands, led the holy Guru Granth Sahib kept in the specifically structured and decorated vehicle which treaded over the track properly cleaned and washed. Children of Guru Nanak Academy, Guru Harkrishan Public School and other institutes in different dresses marched in front of Panj Piyaras. Number of Raagi Jathas recited Gurbani Kirtan enroute. Various scholars enroute explained the contributions, achievements and sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
The team of martial art headed by BhaI Mohan Singh from Jammu displayed the religious warfare (Gatka) at College Ground. Number of stalls with sweets, tea, fruits and other eatables were established at different places including the one by Poonch Police.
The Nagar Kirtan after passing through Nakhan Wali Road and Parade Ground, culminated back in Gurdwara Singh Sabha Poonch.
Prominent among those present includes Addl DC Gurvinderjit Singh, SSP J.S Johar, ASP Mazroor Mir, Dy SP Headquarter Mohan Lal, President DGPC Narinder Singh, Advocate Rajinder Singh, President Ram Dass Sewa society Surjit Singh and many others.
KATHUA : The Sikh community took out a day long colourful Nagar Kirtan from District Gurdwara Sri. Guru Singh Sabha, Kathua ahead of Guru Gobind Singh’s Birth Anniversary (Parkash Utsav) on 5th January 2017.
Celebrating the 350th Birth Anniversary the entire, Sikh community of the Kathua region started the procession from Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha and passed through to Jarai Chowk, Parliwand Road, Old Bus Stand, New Bus Stand, Shasti Nagar, Sawan Chack Gurdwara , Capt. Sunil Choudhary Chowk, Shaheedi Chowk and College Road Kathua.
NOWSHERA: Nagar Kirtan was also taken out from Gurdwara Chhatipatshahi Nowshera in which the Panj Piyaras as usual, led the Holy Guru Granth Sahib kept in a well decorated vehicle. Raagi Jathas recited Gurbani Kirtan while Dhadi Jatha recited history. Speaker Gurpartap Singh from Punjab related the history of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his sacrifices. The Nagar Kirtan in the end culminated again in Gurdwara.
Prominent among others who spoke include President GPC Rajouri Bhopinder Singh Tiger, Advocate Devinder Singh Behal and Baljeet Singh. They said that Guru Gobind Singh was multifaceted personality who was a saint, a Sipahi, a scholar, a writer of Arabic, Persian, Saskrit and Punjabi. His Zafarnama in Persian language made the Emperor Aurangzeb to accept his defeat in the end.
