JAMMU: The State Government on Monday ordered the suspension of Head of Department, Department of Forensic Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu Dr. Bhupesh Khajuria on the charges of molesting a final year MBBS student.
He was placed under suspension, with immediate effect, in terms of Rule-31(2) of the J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956 and will remain attached in the Directorate of Health Service, Jammu.
Dr Bhupesh was arrested in a molestation case registered against him on 26th December, following a massive protest by the MBBS students demanding justice for the victim.
Leader of the Congress Legislature Party, Nawang Rigzin Jora on Monday raised the issue in the Legislative Assembly, seeking immediate action against the accused doctor.
