UDHAMPUR: A monthly meeting of All J and K ReT Teachers Forum was held at Krishna Palace, Udhampur on Sunday under the chairmanship of State President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar and was attended by delegates of forum from all the eleven zones of the district. On the occasion District President Doda Sajad Malik also addressed the gathering.
While speaking on the occasion Sharma lambasted the Education Department which has failed to pay the salaries of SSA teachers for a long due to which thousands of SSA teachers of the State are without salary for last six months
Though Education Minister had assured two years back that SSA salaries will be streamlined within six months but the ground reality after two years is that SSA teachers are on verge of starvation and are helpless. None from either government or from department bothers to resolve the issue of SSA salary which has always been a chronic problem .
The forum members unanimously appealed to the Chief Minister , Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister to personally intervene in this regard so that thousands of ReTs of the State may not suffer any more who have been working in far flung areas of the State for last more than 15 years. Others who also spoke on the occasion -Sukhdev Singh Sumbria , Sham Sharma , Sukesh Khajuria, Ashok Seth , Pritam Goswami, Ravinder Rathore Bhushan Khajuria , Chain Singh, Shamsher Singh, Chain Singh, Sandeep Sharma and others.
