JAMMU: In order to bid farewell to the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) held an impressive farewell parade at Police Sports Stadium, Gulshan Ground, here on Saturday afternoon. Rajendra superannuated as Director General of Police.
A large number of jawans and officers from all the wings of Police Organisation attended the farewell function, besides lady members of Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) and families of police personnel.
On the occasion deliberations were held on the leadership qualities of Rajendra and achievements of the organisation under his leadership as State Police Chief were highlighted.
Addressing the galaxy of officers and Jawans, Rajendra deliberated on his experiences during his 33 years career in JKP. He said that he has always been proud to be a member of JKP and has tried his best to serve the people of the State through the organisation.
Earlier, Additional Director General of Police (Security/Armed), Dilbag Singh, while commenting on the contribution made by the dynamic professional officer as State Police Chief, said that he has worked on different assignments in the organisation in the State and has always come up to the aspiration of the department. He proved himself a sincere and dedicated officer in the service of the public and the organisation feels proud for working under the leadership of Rajendra, he added.
On the occasion Chief Secretary, B.R Sharma presented a memento to Rajendra on behalf of all ranks of JKP.
ADGP (Headquarters), V.K Singh, highlighted the professional achievements of Rajendra during his service.
Rubby Sharma and Bharti Vaid presented a memento to K Vijaya Rajendra on behalf of PWWA.
