JAMMU: Police on Friday arrested a drug peddler and recovered six packets of Charas from his possession.
Under Operation Sanjeevni, a police party led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Ashwani Sharma and In-charge Police Post, Deepak Katoch laid a Naka at Maheshpura Chowk, intercepted a scooter bearing registration number JK02P /6728. During checking, six packets of Charas wrapped in maze being recovered from his possession.The drug peddler was identified as Ashu Sharma alias Banka, son of Dharma Chandeliers, resident of 128 Sarwal Jammu. In this regard, a case FIR no 75/2016 under Section 8/20 NADPS Act was registered and started investigation.
