British-Kashmiri among 12 London mayor candidates

LONDON: A British- Kashmiri musician, promising to reduce air pollution and provide free education to Londoners, will be contesting the London mayoral elections to be held on 5th May.
Ankit Love, who set up his ‘One Love Party’ in the UK last year, will compete in the race widely seen as a twoway contest between ruling Conservative Party candidate Zac Goldsmith and Labour’s Sadiq Khan. In total, there are 12 candidates.
“The ‘One Love Party’ aims to convey a universal message of unity and peace for all mankind,” Love said in his campaign message. 32-year-old Love is a former MTV artist who also made news last year when he declared himself the Maharaja of the Dogra dynasty of Jammu and Kashmir as the son of Bhim Singh, former chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party.
His LinkedIn profile refers to him as “HH The Emperor (Maharaja), Sovereign State of Jammu and Kashmir”.
