JAMMU: Expressing serious concern over the issue of regularisation of daily wagers, need-based and ITI trained workers, and ReTs, senior Vice President JKPCC and former Minister Sham Lal Sharma said that BJP-PDP government is harassing them by turning a blind eye towards their woes.
He asserted that due to indifference of Government towards casual employees of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control and ITI Trained, the common man is also facing hardships since the agitation of these employees is affecting regular water supply in several areas.
Sharma said that the hot summer months are approaching and in case their grievances aren’t redressed, the sufferings of the people will become bad to worst.
Sham asked government to address this significant issue concerning about 62,000 workers on priority.
“The ground of resolving the issue has already been made by the previous Congress-NC Government in Cabinet Sub Committee and making same as criteria, the present dispensation can resolve the issue without any further delay,” he added.
He slammed BJP for its surrender to PDP keeping at bay the interests of people of Jammu for which the party boasted tremendously every now and then. He sought a response from BJP for drifting away from its sole agenda of ensuring rights of Jammuites.
Sham Lal Sharma also alleged that the ReT teachers in the State were harassed by the BJP-PDP Government by its proposal of so called screening of ReT teachers who have been selected in past years purely on merit basis.
Castigating BJP-PDP coalition for agonising ReT teachers, he asked not to disturb the education system in the State. He said the new policy of the BJP-PDP Government has shaken the whole education system and is about to have very bad impact on the career of students.
