JAMMU: Annual inter-school zone level competition of Jammu district in team events of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Wrestling in two age groups of under-14 and under-17 got underway today at different venues here under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
SATWARI ZONE
Headmaster of hosts Government Boys’ High School, Jammu Cantt, Raj Rani Sharma was Chief Guest, who declared open the meet in three events of volleyball, kabaddi and kho-kho.
In all, 310 boys drawn from different participating schools turned up for the competition. Teams playing on the opening day had interaction with the Chief Guest. The Zonal event is being held under the supervision of ZPEO Satwari, Kiran Jyoti.

VOLLEYBALL: Under-17: JK Public School Kunjwani beat Wazir Janaki Nath High School 2-0; GGHS Raipur Satwari trounced GGHS Sohanjana 2-0; St.Peter karan Bagh defeated GHSS Bhour Camp 2-0.
UNDER-14: JK Public School Kunjwani outplayed GMS Narwal Pain 2-0; GGHS Bhour Camp beat GGHS Raipur Satwari 2-0; Government High School Jammu Cantt trounced Government High School Bhour camp 2-0. Matches officiated by Mulkh Raj Sharma, Harpreet Bhalla and Rajesh Bandral.
KABADDI: Under-17: St.Peter Karan Bagh beat GHS Jammu Cantt. 29-23; GHSS Mandal beat H S WazirJanaki Nath 20-11; St.Peter karan Bagh beat GHS Sohanjana 18-16. UNDER-14: St. Peter Karan Bagh beat GMS Upper Gadi Garh 18-11; GMS Narwal Pain beat GHS Sohanjana 15-12; St. Peter beat GHS Jammu Cantt. 10-9. Matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Jasdev Singh, Harvinder Singh, Jatinder Kour and Rupinder Kour.
KHO-KHO: Under 17: St.Peter Karan Bagh beat GHS Sohanjana 8-6; GHS Jammu Cantt. beat GHS Raipur Satwari 9-3; GHSS Bhour Camp beat GHSS Mandal 4-3; GHS Lachhamanpura beat St.Peter Karan Bagh 12-09. UNDER-14: GMS Narwal Pain beat GHS Raipua satwari 9-4; St.John Convent beat GHS LachhamanPura 9-3; Modal Middle school beat GMS Upper Gadi Garh 9-2; GHS Sohanjana beat GHS Bhour camp 2-0 points. The matches Asa Singh, Hardev Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Neeru and Ravinder Singh.

District officer, DYSS, Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma declared open the meet at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Canal Road, here in the discipline of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling and Cricket at Government Girls Higher Seconary School, Bakshi Nagar, here.
Incharge Principal, GHSS Canal Road, Harpreet Kour also interacted with the
participants. The ZPEO Jammu, Saroman Dogra was also present.
