JAMMU: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (AG) under the leadership of Ashok Gupta today held a protest outside the PHE Office at BC Road against the scarcity of water in Jammu city and rural areas.
Holding pitchers in their hands, scores of party activists assembled and raised slogans against PHE Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Gupta said for the last two months the daily wagers of the PHE Department are on strike which has led to total disruption of the water supply system in the scorching heat.
“It seems that neither the government and nor the Chief Engineer is bothered about the fact that the people of the Jammu city are facing acute water shortage due to strike,” he alleged.
The next four months are going to be very hot and full of scorching heat, so an immediate redress of the problem should be taken out, he said.
Sukhdev, Surinder, Lal Singh, Birbal, Vickoo, Baloria, Rajinder, Sham Lal and Abhishek were also present during the protest.
