KATRA: Police on Wednesday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 55 pouches of liquor from his possession.
According to a report, a police team led by Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, SHO Police Station Katra acting on a specific input, laid a special Naka at Matyal Katra near petrol pump. During checking, the police recovered 55 poly pouches of J and K Excise Liquor from accused persons i.e, 40 pouches of liquor from the possession of Lucky Sharma son of Satpal Sharma resident of Dayala Chack Tehsil Hiranagar District Kathua and 15 pouches from the possession of Surinder Kumar son of Gillu Ram resident of Matyal Tehsil Katra District Reasi. Both the accused persons were arrested and recovered poly pouches of liquor were seized.
A case vide FIR No. 63/2016 under section 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC was registered at Police Station Katra.
