GANDERBAL: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Ganderbal on Tuesday organised the District Level Inter School Road Race for boys.
The race started at 6:45 AM from Beehama Chowk and was flagged off by the Additional Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal. The race concluded at Jawahar Navodaya Vidayala, Hatbara. Around 650 students from various schools of District Ganderbal participated in the event.
The prize distribution function was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganai who distributed the prizes among the winners and impressed upon the students to take part in sports activities.
Fifteen position holders from three age categories will represent District Ganderbal at Divisional level Competition to be held at Srinagar on 29th of this month.
Among others Additional Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal, Principal, College of Physical Education, Ganderbal, Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal, Principal JNV Ganderbal, Sheikh Mohammad Shafi (Retired Sports Officer) and various other heads of institutions and prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion.
