JAMMU: Expressing solidarity with the non-local students of NIT seeking redressal of their grievances, State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan regretted that while the student fraternity of NIT was boiling with anger, the State as well as Central Government remained apathetic over the issue.
Condemning the NIT episode in Srinagar, Rajiv Mahajan demanded action against the culprits for disturbing the peaceful environment of the institution.
He demanded from government to direct administration to take stern action against those creating disharmony and inciting hatred.Expressing sympathy and support with the students, he further requested the HRD Minister to ensure their security and their well-being while simultaneously embarking on some crash measures in order to restore their shaken faith.He said the demands of students, who are protesting in Jammu and national capital, are genuine and Centre should take measures to solve it at the earliest in favour of students so that their career may not suffer.
He appealed to all political parties not to play with the future of the students of the country for their petty interests.While seeking safety and security of outside students, Rajiv Mahajan asked the State as well as Central Government not to politicise university and college campuses and also ensure safety of students.He also demanded that the security of the students should be tightened as they are getting threats from the locals and the collage staff.
