Safai Karamcharis to protest on April 29

JAMMU: Civil Safai Karamcharis, drivers, cleaners, clerical staff and sanitary supervisors of JMC on Tuesday warned that in case the authorities failed to settle their genuine demands, the association will be left with no alternative but to launch agitation followed by strike on 29th April.
This warning was given by the representatives of Civic Safai Karamcharis Union (CSKU) and the representatives of drivers and cleaners, clerical staff and sanitary supervisors.
Talking to reporters, President CSKU, Rinku Gill said that at numerous times they had given representation and submitted charter of demands to the concerned authorities but no positive action has been taken by the municipal administration.
The employees are demanding re-organisation of JMC, scrapping of NGO system in JMC, deployment of municvipal employees in wards instead of parking slots, regularisation of contractual drivers of JMC who have completed nine years service, holding of DPC for all cadres etc.
He warned that if these demands were not solved within 10 days the authorities will be responsible for the agitation which will be launched by the employees on 29th April, 3rd and 4th May followed by indefinite strike from 5th May.
Those who present were Ranjit Singh, President, Drivers and Cleaners Union, Rohit George, President, Clerical Union of Rajinder Kumar, Gulzar Masih, Ashwani Sidhu, Manga Masih, Razak Bhatti, Balkar Singh, Jaspal Singh, Narinder Singh, Chanchal, Tarseem, Rakesh Masih, Shaba, Jewels Sotra, Rajesh, Marshal, Rajinder Bhatia, Baghicha Singh, Kulvinder Khokhar and Raju Bali.
