JAMMU: Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thackery) State President Dimpy Kohli expressed serious concern over the continued agitation of the daily wagers, causal workers of Public Health Engineering Department and also of other different departments for the past one and half months due to failure of State Government to address their genuine demands, as a result the water supply system especially in rural areas has almost collapsed.
While addressing the media persons here at party headquarters, Dimpy Kohli said that many deputations of people belonging to rural areas met him and apprised that due to continuous agitation of PHE employees acute water scarcity has occurred in their areas and people are suffering a lot for want of proper water supply as mercury is increasing day by day.
Kohli expressed deep concern over the attitude of the PDP-BJP State Government towards the working and the labourer class who are not being paid regular wages for the last several months besides failure of the authorities to come up with their regularisation policies within the time frame given by the government. He said that due to the long drawn agitation of the PHE workers of various category water supply system has almost collapsed especially in the rural areas of the State particular in Jammu region.
He further said that the authority is maintaining water supply system in urban areas through permanent employees and tanker services etc. but the PHE authorities have left the water supply system in the rural areas at the mercy of God without any alternate measures as a result the people are facing great hardship.
Dimpy Kohli urged the government to immediately resolve the issues of agitating workers and to do justice with them and their families who are on the verge of starvation. He said Shiv Sena fully supported the cause of agitating PHE employees.
Vice President Sandeep Bhagat, Rajan Gupta, Narinder Dev Chunni and M.M Nagotra were also present in the press conference.
